Smart Office Challenge

We are ending our week with an added wealth of knowledge and new found appreciation for conserving energy. Although we specialize in couture bridal accessories, our staff uses computers and modern technology daily to efficiently run and grown our brand. Therefore, we felt inspired to increase our efforts to conserve energy and reduce waste in the process. We make all our pieces by hand and now we are taking it one step further by implementing new ways to conserve energy and reduce waste in our office as well.

Conserving Energy in the office

We shut down all our laptops, printers and desktops after office hours to conserve energy.

We used the our new HP PageWide Pro MFP 577dw printer to print our earring tags and signs posted at our pop up shop last weekend using recycled paper. The quality was impeccable.

Here are our bottle labels printed on our HP PageWide Pro MFP 577dw printer. We also love the wireless printing feature and touch screen that allows us to scan documents (such as vendor invoices) directly to our computer and the double sided print feature. We printed responsibly by only printing a limited number of bottle labels, by only printing receipts as clients requested and using our email receipt option to reduce waste.

This is another photo showing that we powered down our HP EliteBook Folio 1020 G1 notebook in addition to our HP Elite display monitor before we left the office today!

It was a very liberating experience to partake in the Smart office challenge during Waste reduction week. As a business it helped us reduce our paper consumption when we started printing double sided and we saved energy by turning off the monitor and computer when not in use. I can't wait to see the effect this will have on our monthly bill as we continue to use these methods learned during the week.
